ENTREPRENUER OF THE YEAR !!!!
Sam the cooking guy

Sam Zinn - THE COOKING GUY - goes viral ... He's not a trained chef - go figure ... GARAGE ENTREPRENEURIAL Par X

I've been watching SAM THE COOKING GUY for awhile and he's rapidly becoming one of my favorites..

Sam Zinn , I just saw him interviewed. He's not even a trained chef . He was an out of work Advertising worker who decided to start a cooking show by default . He initially was going to try and start a travel show but that fell through. So he filmed himself out of his home as the cooking guys, and it was a hit. He started a 15 minute show on the local news for free. He did this for a year and he got picked up just when he was going broke.

He now has three shows and three books coming out. He did all this after he was 40.

He said he didn't know how to cook. He just started putting things together to appeal to the normal every day guy.

He has the potential to be as big or bigger than anyone . He's also funny.

PLANTING FAITH

" a seed of faith is worth more than a harvest of happiness"  ~ ?

Interesting ... Might this pertain to confidence?

Today you have allot of alla Get Rich quick spiels , bla, bla ...and bla! ... It really pisses me off and kills any further interest in .

I'm thinking, in place of selling the happy, happy, Champaign dreams and Caviar  extravaganzas , why not sell the real art of the deal right now, good old fashioned, no BS, faith?

Faith right now speaks much to our condition. It suggests a boat load of empathy. Sowing faith and empathy, prepares the Earth for the seeds of confidence and vitality. Talking about confidence right now often is like putting the horse before the cart.

I'm off my soap box now, have a great day!

Seeds of Destruction or Seeds of creation.

Last night I was reading What if Essays by Robert Cowley.
THE IMMOLATION OF HERNAN CORTES ` By Hassig
In case you don't know much about how Cortes conquered South America,
in essence, Cortes conquered entire cultures with roughly 400 men.
We are talking thousands upon thousands of Indians and he was far from home and support. What he did was co-opt the tribes that hated the Aztecs. A great deal of the Aztec demise had to do with shock and more importantly their rigidity ; they spent their energy sowing hate and fear and it come back to haunt them.
 This brings to mind:
Nothing in the world is more flexible and yielding than water.
Yet when it attacks the firm and the strong,
none can withstand it,
because they have no way to change it.
So the flexible overcome the adamant,
the yielding overcome the forceful.
Everyone knows this,
but no one can do it.”

This is how Cortez conquered the Aztecs,
But in a way Cortez was the devil reciting this verse for his own use.
He cooped the Indians at first and used them for his purposes and then betrayed them one he was in power.
So he used the first part of the tactic. AS per Spain,
there was a lot of division in there ranks and more importantly in Spain itself.
King Charel wasn't even Spanish, he was Dutch and the spaniards resented this.
Cortez in fact rebelled and went forward with his invasion ignoring orders from the governor of Havana.

In the boarder picture , Spain despite its power had a weak core. The Spainards were more loyal to  their families,  cities, colonies then Spain.
Sound familiar ?

If the Aztecs were smart,
they would have cooped the Spaniards. In fact, there were Spaniards that fought with the indians. Cooping the enemy has huge advantages.

As Lincoln said,
the best way to defeat you enemy is to make him your friend.

Imagine if England did not try to rule by force?
Imagine all the civilizations that would have survived through peace .
Histories greatest lesson is that it repeats it self.

[ BACK TO THE OBSERVATIONS ]
"Change the name and the story maybe about you ."

O - Oh
And or, he who is without sin cast the fist stone ...

[ thunk, did I just get pelted or get a pie in the face? ]

you better not be chucking rocks if you if you want to pled innocent and or not answer to your own short comings.

Further,

"The actors change, but the play remains the same."

So do the settings, costumes , but have we really changed that much?

Yes, to varying degrees, the way which things happen, how they happen, time , place and so forth, but at the root of it all, why we do what we do regardless  of how things appear remain the same.

    Forest & Trees

"It is looking at things for a long time that ripens you and gives you a deeper meaning."
    ~Vincent Van Gogh

Given most of us don't have the time, per the quote above, are we not becoming sweeter and aged?  Aged as wine makers say, in other words, wiser?

"Time does not have the same appeal for everyone."
    ~ Shakespeare

    We are an endless orchard, a paradise of trees;
we are different trees baring fruit,
seasons with in seasons, an endless pageant .

Lets observe the trees and the orchard as a paradise of trees.

    WHITE HORSE YUKON & BLACKY

by Konrad K Rutten on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 5:28am
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitehorse,_Yukon
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_W._Service

I remember walking into an outpost in the Yukon: late spring, early summer , the snow had just thawed and everything was fresh and new. Fresh air and the smells, all modifed by pine , were like a sea..We where in White horse across the river from where Jack London wrote many of his stories. As well as Robert Service, and it was clear why these writers ventured here, your senses seem to open up wide. We had been driving up the Alcan Highway for what seemed eternity and finally we were there, liberation, freed from a back seat prison.
At the time, I was eight and didn’t know anything about Jack London or Robert Service but as kids do, I was monitoring everything very awake with battle like butter flies. My dad talked about the London and Service in a vague romantic way. I felt a deep seated urge in my father to be free, and this was his way of doing it. It was clear though, why these men wrote their stories. Also with in me was stirring, the great wilderness of the Yukon, and beyond that the unknown. Tells of Bears, wolves, and blizzards put a lump in my throat. Looking around, here were people who survived such things. Everyone seemed to have a stores. Surprising, the wild was filled with misfits, writers, criminals and such. In particular Sam Nunely our guide. An older alcoholic , he was tall and never seemed to come his hair. It was clear he realized it was pointless in the winds of the wild . Also, I intuited, he gave up on love and acceptance for his independence. I later learned many of these men do just that, in away they were trying to escape civilization. Like cowboys they went into town for fun and supplies. Brothels, bars, and the Outpost. It seemed like they often forgot how to deal with people. Much like the quite , mysterious Indians.
I remember when first walking into the OuttPost with looked like a country Sears. In fact, it was somewhat like a fusion of a sears and grocery store. Everything was in large bags and boxes. My eight year old noise was very present. The fresh air mixing with the smells. I had a whole new appreciation what the dogs smelled every day. This included, the horrific smell of some men and the worst of all, the Old Timers who would dump their winters cloths in the bathroom. Yup, they wore them all winter and they could fertilize a planter bed with ease . I remember seeing an old man who definitely looked like he was in the wild. He was obviously hung over and probably getting ready to visit a brothel. He was standing at the sink with his shirt off shaving with an open razor. He was so there, but so far away. No sign of acknowledgment what so ever. He splashed water on himself taking a bums bath carving at mangled beard. I grimaced at the pain, but it did not’ faze him, compared to a winters full of pain, it was nothing.
Anyways, soon after loaded up with supplies and so much Molsen Bear we looked like a small brewery . My mind made the vague association of my father and uncle heading out into the wild and the old men, whom all seemed to be alcoholics.
Suddenly, key word here , read on I meet Sams best friends. Blacky, pure black giant Husky part Wolf, he looked like a small horse. Suddenly, was everything about Blacky. He like surprised and made sure you did too. He was young and had wild eyes. He hadn’t learned to lift his leg yet, I found out the hard way. He liked to play and couldn’t understand why no one would play with him. He was like that kid in the first grade that never wiped his nose. He would jump on you putting his paws on your shoulders and unbewittingly make his territory all over your front side. I didn’t now which traumatized me more, the smell of dirt, urine, his breathe and the fact that he always seemed to try and french kiss me; also, he was flat out spooky. He was like a juvenile bear that had screwy hormones and he was unbelievably strong. It was said, when Sams Snow mobile broke down in the winter, mind you, this was winter and tons of snow , he would tie Blackly to the snow mobile and he would pull him to where ever he needed to go, and we are talking miles. Looking at Blacky, tongue hanging out most of the time with those screwy black eyes, energy like a ADD race horse , I had no question. In fact, it wasn’t hard to believe he loved doing it. Sam loved it too, getting caught in a blizzard was death and or being surprized by a bear or pack of wolve. Blacky missed nothing . His radar was alway on full blast. He was like a new recruit that you would tell him to drop and give him twenty and he would keep going, 40, 60, ect. This dog was bored. It is said, when Sam died, the moved Blacky to Saskatuan, and guess what happened? A part wolf in acity, yup you guessed it, Blacky left a hugh trail of destruction. When my father was told of the fines and fees for his damage, he was shocked and laughed. Needless to say, they had to return blacky to the wild.
In sum, Blacky was all about love, no question he would not only save you, he would die for you. He was the epitome of this land. His prefect blackness and haunting howl poke volumes. He still spoke his native tongue and would speak to his cosines at night.

    The Bridge, Bridging and beyond

    The Bridge, Bridging and beyond

Did you know the Romans worshiped bridges?

Do you know where the word Pontiff comes from?

A pontiff (from Latin pontifex) was, in Roman antiquity, a member of the principal college of priests .

    Bridging :
    Heaven and Earth
land masses over a river, void, chaos.
    people holding hands.
    Utility to power source.
    Synapse .

    Joseph Campbell says :

"Myths are clues that unite unite the forces with in us"

No doubt , beyond us as well.

    Between me and you?

    TO BE CONTINUED :

Ps. there are still Roman Bridges in use today. in tolido spain, tour busses used them on a daily bases.

Beware of The Ides of March !!!

Beware of The Ides of March !!!

Divitiarum et formae gloria flux et fragilis est virtus clara aeternaque habetur.
The fame that goes with wealth & beauty is fleeting and fragile ; intellectual superiority is a possession glorious and eternal.
    ~ Sallustius Crispus 86 - 35 bc
Imagine the moment Julius Caesar got the idea to declare himself a God.
    Imagine being there.
For dramatic and symbolic reasons, let me give you a point of view. The value of this is to get you to think and question; obviously, not to give you the facts. This is conjecture based loosely on what has been said and what is known.
    Brief Background:
The Ides of March  refers to the 15th day of March when a military parade is held for the god of war Mars. It also refers to a full moon.
It is said Caesar saw a seer who warned him of danger before the 15th. Caesar made a joke of it and ignored it . Also, it is said that the Romans had a tradition of having a salve ride in the chariot of a victorious general returning to Rome . This slave would whisper, over and over again,
    "all fame is fleeting"
Caesar apparently ignored this too. Essentially, Caesar became drunk with power and his arrogance blinded him. So much so, He decided to declare himself God and this got him killed.
The Romans were very leery of dictators but were willing to go make an exception With Caesar their golden boy. But when he got so arrogant and went beyond that , in a way , despite being their hero, he betrayed them. It became all about him, not the people. It completely undermined him and he became a monster like all the others. It sealed his fate.
So , ponder this point of view :
Imagine the moment Julius Caesar had the though to declare  himself a God. You're the oracle in the crowd looking at his face as he's on his chariot surrounded by the crowds cheering him at the parade of Mars. You see his grey eyes change and the expression. He's not only drunk with power, he has fallen to it, he's seduced . And you know, he's a dead man. Despite everything, he's going to die.
At this moment, The Roman civilization is at it's peek. Caesar is at the highest point of his life and he's the most prestigious conquer Roman has produced. To this very point, The Roman empire was on the rise, at the point Caesar betrays Rome, it is on the decline.

    BAKED MAGAZINE 1st Edition

    What might have been.

WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN ~ What if ?
More than meets the naked eye! .. Look closer.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_If%3F_(essays)

    I'm reading WHAT IF?
The world's Military historian's imagine what might have been.

I used to say, so what?

But, I've realized much by reading this book.

AS Picasso said, "art is a lie that reveals the truth"

    So right with this book!

We are way to fast to pass up speculation !

But in this book, in away , I'm learning allot about History . By learning what might have been, you learn what was at stake Historically.... This is huge! ... In essence, it gets to the heart of History. What struggles were are forefathers confronting  and how did they handle them.... By abstraction, we can apply this to our own time and lives.

As they say, one of the biggest lessons of History is that it repeats itself .

Peter Guber / Blinded by the light, anyone?

The light of his huge Cheshire smile ..

Right up front, before I get my butt kicked,
All I'm doing here is making observations and asking questions.

Notice, right on top of the book title , it's a quote from:

Mr. "It depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is." –Bill Clinton,"

Some body turn off the alarm please!

    All I got to say,

Anyone wont to joint the Spin Doctor old boys club?

    Dear Mr. Gurber,

The Used Car sells men of America here by bequeath the an honorary degree!

PS. I don't really know Mr. Guber, but I always question the the big row of teath smile, Mr Clinton taught me this.

ARE YOU IN THE MOOD FOR CUTE?

ARE YOU IN THE MOOD FOR CUTE?
It was the Little Darth Vader , Super Bowl ad really.. Cute?
    "31.5 million times.
That's how many times someone in that last 10 days has clicked onto YouTube to watch a 60-second car commercial."

    http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/unthinking/201102/why-millions-love-max-page

DEAR HARRY aka God of Marketing ,

This has been bugging the hell out of me. An itch I haven't been able to shake .

Should we be in the mood for cute?

Yeah, I don't mind cute, but having our collective heads in the sand is another thing. I'm seeing more butts sticking out of the ground lately ; yeah, I need a drink like the next guy, but lets face it , we got some music to face. This national dance is looking more, and more like a mash pit.

Maybe it's me, but Come By Yah is not cutting it.

    Thoughts?

    THE SAUDI TWO STEP

    THE SAUDI TWO STEP

    Anyone else seeing this?

Notice how the Saudi's have been really quite. Light bulb, why is that? The other night it dawned on me, Saudi Arabia ; it traced the little red boarder outline; what's going on here? Did they move or something?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I checked weren't they an al-Qaida clearing house?

    What gives?

    It's a mystery folks!

Drop your crossword puzzles and lets figure this one out.

Notice how the "leader" of Sadi Arabia is shelling out the Ad da boys all of a sudden.

Trust me, when it comes to craping nickels, it takes these boy an act of Alla to bend over the log.

    SMILE ... DAM IT !!!!

I might add, without a doubt this is very, very, underestimated ... It's so simple . It's the ultimate doing the least with the biggest impact .

This subject dawfs everything else .. Put a smile on your face and your universe will change like a light switch..

12 Tips to Put a Smile on Your Face
    By Remez Sasson

    1. Always try to find the bright side in every situation. Remember that even in difficult situations and problems there is hope and a bright side.

    2. Listen to relaxing, uplifting music. Such music affects the subconscious mind, making you feel better. When you feel better, it is easier to smile.

    3. Watch funny comedies that make you laugh. Think of them when in a bad mode. This will put a smile on your face.

    4. Each day, devote some time to reading a few inspiring quotes, or some pages from a book that makes you feel good. You will feel a smile coming to your face when you read them.

    5. Be polite to your family, neighbors, the people who work with you, and to strangers you meet at the store, bookshop or on the street. Being polite begets good feelings, and then a smile.
